Cosmetic Dentistry improves the appearance of your smile.
There is of course an overlap between restorative and cosmetic considerations for many patients.
Tooth Whitening: We take a conservative approach to whitening, providing custom made trays and professional grade whitening gel. Whitening can cause tooth sensitivity so we encourage our patients to whiten gradually.
Composite Fillings: light Cured composite can be used as a cost effective fix for a chipped tooth. For my active, sports playing son it was a good choice. The chip needed a redo after a couple years (soccer).
This is a composite restoration of a chipped tooth. At close range it is hard to tell the difference when one knows it's there. From a normal "personal space" distance it's virtually impossible.
Crowns: Crowns are used cosmetically to reconfigure twisted, damaged or unattractive teeth.. With a crown, a layer of tooth material is removed all around the tooth. An impression of your teeth is taken to make a crown with custom fit and color. Our all ceramic crowns provide excellent durability and appearance.
Veneers: A veneer is a thin porcelain replacement for the front side of a tooth. The aesthetics are terrific, giving a very natural result, preserving the translucence of one's natural tooth enamel. One does not need to remove as much tooth material for a veneer vs a crown. Veneers can be used for a single tooth or for several teeth to effect a smile makeover.
The appearance of crooked or stained front teeth can be dramatically improved with veneers.
Implants: Implants are a terrific solution for missing teeth. Implants often make more sense than bridges where a bridge would require healthy adjacent teeth to be prepped to serve as the abutments to the bridge. For an implant, a special screw is placed where the missing tooth is located. Bone will grow around the implant to make a solid foundation for a crown which is attached to the screw. The aesthetics and function of implants are excellent.
